Yog-Sothoth is “The Key and the Gate”, “The All-in-One”, “The Hidden One”, “The Opener of the Way”, “The Color that Came from Space”. Yog-Sothoth is one of the Outer Gods and is connected with all time and space, although He is semi-trapped outside the universe we inhabit.
Yog-Sothoth knows everything and sees everything. “Pleasing” this deity can bring knowledge of a multitude of things. However, like many extreme beings, seeing or learning too much from Him can potentially brings “disasters”, often extreme or even fatal consequences -especially when viewed from an ordinary and mundane eye.
“When Yog-Sothoth commands, the human spirit instinctively falls silent and obeys -even if the mundane does not know who, why, how, or whether they are obeying”.
-Master Falcifer.
To execute any of His true conjurations, Yog-Sothoth must be the one Who performs the miracle, and certain circumstances must occur for Him to act; the adept must have complete faith and alignment with Him and with His essential instinct. He can bring about and greatly intensify many things in an extreme way -almost dangerous, if not outright dangerous- such as heightened sexuality, an aggressive and competitive masculine mindset, violent or warlike impulses, and strange bursts of luck, among many other magickal results.
Like Nyarlathotep, Yog-Sothoth can create and use avatars; the most commonly used is Umr’ At-Tawil. Yog-Sothoth resides at the very edge of the Ultimate Gate, the entrance to the Ultimate Void. He sees everything, knows everything, and experiences everything simultaneously. He knows every answer to every question and every mystery. He is basically omnipresent and omniscient. Yog-Sothoth can make deals and offers with humans, even sire offspring. It is also said that He has the ability to resurrect people even when they have been dead for centuries, but the side effect is that the resurrected person will develop a strange form of vampirism. Mortal beings, human or otherwise, can contact Yog-Sothoth through rituals -usually cermonial operations, but commonly with an artifact called the Silver Key. The Silver Key allows its possessor to open the Ultimate Gate and encounter Yog-Sothoth in His pure essence. As far as we know, eleven Earthlings have truly reached Yog-Sothoth, five of whom were human. He is the father of Hastur and the grandfather of Ithaqua.
The seal of Umr’ At-Tawil can be seen on the Sacred Key of Crimson, so it is possible that Yog-Sothoth plays an important role in the human history, since Yog-Sothoth can control and oversee all possible timelines and inner dimensions.
“Yog-Sothoth knows the Gate. Yog-Sothoth is the Gate. Yog-Sothoth is the Key and the Guardian of the Gate. Through Him all paths of time and space converge, and by His will the hidden doors between worlds are opened. None may pass the threshold without His sight, for He stands beyond the causal and acausal veils, watching the beginning and the end as one”.
-Nyxalaz, Devilist Witch.
Although it is believed that Azathoth maintains existence through His mere dreams, He has little or no awareness of the mortals Who reside within those dreams. This makes Azathoth effectively incapable of interacting in a very explicit or inter-causal way with humanity because He is too far beyond our understanding and consequently beyond our ordinary shared network of consciousness outside of psychoactives and altered states of consciousness.
Yog Sothoth, on the other hand, is often described as omniscient, perhaps even all-comprehending; and He does actively attempt to enter our mortal plane of existence through manipulation and/or channeling in and through humans. Devoted adepts in the shadows work to invoke an aspect of Yog Sothoth into our world in a stable and definitive way -for hundreds and hundreds of years.”.
In conclusion, Azathoth has more generic or sustaining power over our existence, while Yog Sothoth exhibits more influence over us. All potentially, of course, we have endured so far.
Yog-Sothoth is described as everything, existing outside reality -beyond the realm of the void where entities and fallen angels such as Azazel and His subordinates reside- (and therefore possibly beyond the domain of Azathoth) and knowing everything. Through the gates of the Silver Key He also presents the most “explicit” demonstration of power.
“Beyond the frail geometry of mundane thought, there coils the immeasurable vastness of the one named Yog-Sothoth, He is a powerful metagod, the all-seeing amalgam of daemons whose presence bleeds through the fractures of time and dream. He is composed of 13 main espheres (spirit orbs), which correspond to the 13 daemons of His primary essence. To utter His name is to brush against the cold circumference of eternity itself -like a tumor of wisdom, a glitch within Akasha -where past and future dissolve into a single devouring awareness. In the silent chambers of forbidden gnosis, the sorcerer learns that Yog-Sothoth is not summoned as lesser spirits are, but rather unveiled -like a cosmic wound opening within the fabric of reality- through which the infinite gazes back upon the one who dared to call.”
-Master Falcifer.
Satania´s Coven Rituals & Magickal Operations With Yog-Sothoth:
“Imagination summoned the striking form of the fabulous Yog-Sothoth -only a conglomeration of iridescent globes, yet tremendous in its malignant suggestiveness”.
-H. P. Lovecraft.
