There are many Telal who can fit perfectly within the war-oriented sphere. Definitely Hellborn or Phantoms can be excellent choices. We can also examine your personal pantheon (through a reading) -your linked spirits- to identify imbalances or weak points, and then recommend a specific type that would best fill that role.
Q. Also, if I choose the “Commander” rank, would I be able to control subordinate ranks as well? I’d like to build and lead my own legion of soldiers, spies, assassins, and similar forces. In sure my camp Demigoddess can do this but I would like someone dedicated for it.
Usually, a Commander governs or directs lesser spirits or daemons, while the Commander itself is at your service -or more accurately, acts as your ally. You become the living vessel and linked anchor that allows Him to channel His Infernal powers more effectively onto this plane.
He will already possess His own group of entities, but if you wish to expand His legions, you can artificially assign lesser spirits beneath higher-ranking ones, effectively creating a forced hierarchy.
For example, if you have a spy entity you favor, you could place a beta-level spy beneath a Commander, and then place that Commander under your primary alpha companion. Many of us organize our personal hierarchies in this way.
Q. Does gender matter when it comes to a military commander of a companion you think?
That is a complex question. Masculine daemons often display strongly masculine leadership traits and commanding energies, while feminine entities can sometimes be more subtle, manipulative, or malicious -traits that may in certain situations prove more useful than straightforward aggression.
However, this varies greatly, and we cannot generalize too heavily. There are male commanders who are extraordinarily intelligent, strategic, and calculating, just as there are feminine daemons who are incredibly fierce, dominant, and aggressive.
