In 1982’s “Poltergeist”, real human skeletons were used as props without the actors’ knowledge.
The props master made the decision to acquire real skeletons from a medical and scientific supply company, as it was more cost-effective than creating replicas.
Jobeth Williams, who portrayed the mother Diane, filmed scenes involving these real skeletons in a mud-filled pool for five days without being aware that they were not replicas.
