Michael - the celestial warrior known in the Bible and in the Qurʾān as Mīkāl, repeatedly portrayed as the leader of the heavenly hosts, the protector of Israel, and the one shown in battle against the dragon in Revelation. Christian tradition also presents him as one of the principal angels, associated with the struggle against Satan and the rescue of the faithful.
Michael carries the force of a divine challenge: “Who is like God?” - a name rooted in his role as the defender who does not seek glory for himself, but stands as a shield, a commander, and an uncompromising force in sacred war. In Scripture, he appears as the great prince who rises in the hour of distress, contends with the devil over the body of Moses, and leads the heavenly host against the adversary.
