Agaures, Agares: Grand Duke of the western part of Hell, commander of 31 legions of demons, teaching languages, causing earthly spirits to dance and distract his enemies, still being considered Lucifer’s prime minister. He often appears as a noble lord, carrying a hawk in his fist, wearing a tunic, mounted on horseback, taking with him a crocodile. The demon of courage.
AGARES DEMON
Agares or Agreas is a Duke, harmful to the eastern part of hell, and being served by 31 legions of demons. He is portrayed as a pale old man, riding a crocodile and with a falcon in his fist. Agares makes the magician travel great distances in astral projection and teaches all known languages. He pursues enemies, destroys enemy spirits, and can cause important men to fall, causing them to lose their public position, honor and respect from others, can cause an earthquake, and incite dancing.

He has the power to grant swiftness, teach languages, cause tremors and break dignities. He also brings back things that are gone. This daemon was of the order of Virtues, and governs 31 legions of spirits.
ANALYSIS: Agares presents himself in a friendly manner to those who show an interest in acquiring knowledge, but is capable of deluding and manipulating those who turn to him only for power. The symbolism of his image mounted on a crocodile and with a hawk in his hands shows his power to know things and see beyond reach (the hawk, an animal that observes the world from above, with swift flight and agile boats over prey on earth ), solve problems quickly, control passions and tensions caused by insecurity, doubt and worry.
